equals mgmt is a directors' representation agency.
We connect directors with production companies, agencies, and brands across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, North Africa, and the US.
Scott Pugnetti started as a documentary director. He joined what was then “Aylene Gardiner Agency” - Aylene had been running it for decades and was instrumental in creating the representation model used by most major European directors' reps. He became her business partner, saw the industry from both sides of the table, and when she retired, rebuilt the agency from scratch.
We're selective about who we take on (no assholes!), and transparent about how we work. When we send a director for a job, we tell them what we know: the budget, the competition, the odds. No hidden surprises or costs.
We make it our business to know the production companies we work with well enough that when we pick up the phone, they pick up theirs.
The directors are the heroes. We're the bridge.
Our job is to make sure the right people see the work, at the right time, with the full picture.

How do we see the future of advertising?
Our way of working is built on a reputation of being easy to work with, clear, transparent and honest. We are frustrated with the current business practices in the industry and strongly believe that there is a better, simpler way of working.
We are eternal optimists. Those of us who understand that our world is a series of compromises will keep on working.
If a director: has a great reel, is competitive on price and production requests, loves to travel and accepts to do it as comfortably as the budget allows, is open to suggestions from the client, agency and production company, does a great treatment, is open-minded and a pleasure to work with, then the future looks good!

Started as a documentary director, spent 13 years on the other side of the table building equals mgmt. Runs strategy, built CTRL (our education arm), and campaigns for pitch reform across the industry.

Runs the pitching process. Matching directors to briefs, checking availability, building relationships with production companies across every market we're in.
Our reputation as good people is paramount to us. We'd rather know what sort of music you're into than gatekeep how the industry works.
We don't just represent directors. We teach them to represent themselves.
CTRL is our education arm. Through The Directors Lab weekly drop-in sessions, consulting packages, one-on-one coaching - we give directors the tools to run their own careers, whether they're on our roster or not.
